7. Torajaland

Torajaland (Tana Toraja) is known as a highland region of South Sulawesi, the place of the Toraja people. After someone’s death, the body is put - often for several years - until the actual funeral ceremony, that can last for several days. The body is then finally buried in a tiny cave or in a hollow tree. The largest funerals are usually organized in the dry-season months of July and August, but there are funerals year-round.

9. Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park
